Janssen Ortho LLC, a member of Johnson & Johnsons Family of Companies, is recruiting a Sr. Business Unit Manager. This position is based in the facility located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Janssen Pharmaceuticals is the PR Sales and Marketing Division for the pharmaceutical products of Johnson and Johnson. The Senior Business Unit Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating local critical processes to business planning, marketing plans, portfolio management and development, market research, new product launches, business performance tracking, among others, to achieve the business objectives within business policies and guidelines as well as departmental budget. Might supervise, coach and develop Regional Sales Managers, Business Unit Managers and Sales Representatives to drive compliant sales, exceed sales goals and achieve personal developmental goals and objectives. This position will work with key US partners to tailor marketing programs to local needs. 1. Use sound judgment to execute compliant tailored strategies. 2. Establishing and maintaining a strong competitive position through strategic and tactical identification of marketing opportunities. 3. Delegates tactical tasks and objectives based on the marketing plan. 4. Be accountable for delivering sales quota. 5. Ensures the tactical execution of the company marketing strategy by communicating and tracking short and long marketing plans. 6. Manage Puerto Rico Marketing daily activities and related budget supporting Brand including: a. Marketing communications – advertising, promotions b. Market research c. Public relations plans d. Develop and implement meeting strategy with medical associations, conventions and conferences e. Execute advisory boards to gain market insights and develop marketing strategies f. Regular meetings with US brand counterparts 7. Monitor competitor issues, business and economic data (medical journals, IMS etc.), industry and trade journals/statistics, market research, and on-going intelligence from both internal and external sources. 8. Develops innovative marketing programs based on brand/product strategies and implements through team. 9. Employs marketing tools as required to identify and interpret changing attitudes, demands, and customer needs, competitor issues, sales force needs a. Develop market insights and translate them into actions that enhance business results b. Monitor changes in the marketplace and act proactively to address customer and market needs 10. Provides input for the development of products and anticipates a customer need/solution approach. 11. Will work with key US partners to tailor marketing programs to local needs 12. Develop advertising plans to support the marketing plan, identifies appropriate vehicles and messages, and works with appropriate management to convey needs and image of the company. 13. Ensures successful event planning and management to showcase products, cultivate relationships, and create awareness. 14. Manages to, and provides input for the budget 15. Directs the supervision of Regional Sales Managers, Business Unit Manager and/or Sales Representatives to drive sales performance of product, offerings and successful execution of brand strategy. 16. Responsible for: hiring, training, developing, motivating, and performance management of Regional Sales Managers, Business Unit Managers and/or Sales Representatives to drive compliant sales, exceed sales goals and achieve personal developmental goals and objectives. 17. Collaborate with numerous internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of efforts and to fully leverage the available resources. Observe and promote safety, industrial hygiene and other rules established by the Company. Inform any violations or deviations to the immediate Supervisor or designated person and guarantee, according to his/her role, those necessary corrective actions are taken. Attend applicable environmental education and training programs. Qualifications • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; major in science or business preferred. An MBA or an advanced/graduate degree is highly preferred. • Eight to ten (8-10) years of pharmaceutical experience required. • A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing and leading a team is strongly preferred. • Must have successful and consistent track record of delivering results. • In-house experience in brand management, sales management, business analytics and its applications into business intelligence strategies, market research, sales training or sales management is required. • Knowledge of in-line pharmaceutical marketing strategies and turning data into insights is required. • People management, strong customer orientation, strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are strongly preferred. • The following physical demands represent those that have to be complied by the associate, in order to successfully execute the essential duties of the position.
