ETHICON Wound Closure & Repair / ETHICON Biosurgery Summary: This role is responsible for the end-to-end worldwide inventory planning process that delivers optimal levels of inventory within the ETHICON business. You will be accountable for managing over $750MM of WW inventory and the process which governs it. The scope of the role is very diverse and includes leading the executive inventory management business reviews as well as identifying drivers of key performance metrics and action plans to meet and exceed business targets. This role plays a very significant role within the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and manages a team in ensuring this process has a high level of maturity around Inventory Management. This position is end-to-end and works very closely with the Regional Planning, Supply Network Planning, and Product Planning and Logistics organizations to ensure that inventory levels are in line with commitments, and the teams are delivering on all optimization initiatives. This role reports to the Director, Supply Network Planning and Inventory Management. Responsibilities: • The inventory strategic planning and business planning process. • The management and coordination of all inventory optimization programs across all inventory locations. • The deployment of strong inventory management practices. Assuring that business processes ensure the right item, in the right quantity is available without maintaining excessive stock levels or compromising patient care and safety. • Training and education of the supply chain team on the principles of inventory management and optimization. • Maintaining and developing processes and tools to analyze and review improvements in the inventory planning of new product introductions and life cycle management events. • Collaborating across regions and functions to ensure alignment on programs and priorities in this area. Qualifications • A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required; a Masters or other advanced degree is preferred. • A minimum of 8 years of related operations experience in the areas of planning / materials management, logistics, inventory control and / or finance is required. • Process Excellence certification is highly preferred. • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies is required. • Strong business understanding, with experience and competency in materials management, inventory optimization, process improvements, productivity improvement, cost reduction methodologies, and the development of cohesive teams is preferred. • Self-motivation and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. • Very strong analytical skills are required. • Strong business financial acumen is preferred. • Ability to drive continuous improvement and change is required. • This role may require up to 25% domestic and international travel as business demands.
