*Shop Supervisor *is responsible for overseeing collection and/or post-collection maintenance shops and managing a team of technicians, administrators and utilities who are responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of a fleet of vehicles and heavy machinery that supports the applicable Division.
* *POSITION SUMMARY:*

The Shop Supervisor reports to the Division Manager – Fleet Maintenance and is responsible for providing direction at his or her own shop, as well as, to a group of technicians who are responsible for implementing and monitoring maintenance policies and procedures to ensure that all repairs and maintenance to EC Waste equipment, including trucks and other heavy equipment are performed in compliance with the Company's safety and compliance standards, and in compliance with all regulations.
* *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:*

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
* Provide direction, and leadership to maintenance technicians, to ensure that all repair/ maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner, while allocating adequate resources among site as appropriate.
* Oversee coordination, planning/ scheduling of all repair work to increase productivity, while effectively supervising department's overtime. Monitor shops' operational performance and efficiency; take action to redirect activities appropriately. Report to management on shops' performance; implement procedures for process/programmatic changes for improvement or efficiencies.
* Supervises, in the assigned shift, the maintenance department, including oversight of daily shop meetings; fleet walk–arounds; coaching and counseling lead technician and maintenance supervisor(s) on performance and corrective action, when necessary; make hiring/ termination decisions in concert with Division Manager, Human Resources and appropriate management; oversee employee training and performance evaluations; evaluate, recommend, and approve supervisor recommendations for merit increase, promotion, and job changes, as appropriate.
* Maintain an on-going preventive maintenance program for all shops within geographic responsibility. Identify trends in road calls, break downs; and provide oversight of building maintenance and other facilities on site; control maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory control and outsourcing of repairs.
* Perform inspections of outside repairs and maintenance to ensure all work is properly completed in accordance with Company safety and compliance procedures and regulations; follow up where appropriate.
* Identify training opportunities and, as necessary, document issues and constructively discuss corrective action, as needed, with applicable personnel.
* Accountable for scheduled Quality Control Inspections, tracking of issues and resolution to ensure all work is properly completed in accordance with Company safety, compliance procedures, and regulations.
* Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic and electrical systems of heavy equipment and vehicles used by Company to ensure ability to perform advanced preventive and repair maintenance functions, on site and on road, including: Advanced engine chassis repair and maintenance; Advanced knowledge of vehicle body control systems, including hydraulics and electrical systems to maintain and repair vehicles in a timely and safe manner; Advanced knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems to effectively diagnose and repair complex heating and cooling systems in vehicles in a timely and safe manner; have a working knowledge of welding to be able to effectively evaluate finished work ensuring a safe and compliant repaired asset is back in an operable condition as quickly and as safely as possible.
* Manage related supervisory and administrative matters for team, including payroll, maintenance of employee records, records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed, recording of all information into Dossier Maintenance Software, helps Division Manager preparing and submitting budget for approval, set departmental goals to align with targets and performance objectives established by Division leadership.
* Requires travel.
* *SUPERVISORY RESPONSABILITIES:*

This job has supervisory responsibilities for Diesel Mechanics, Technicians, Utility, Tire Repair workers, Heavy Equipment Technicians and staff who support the total operation. This includes responsibility for employee performance reviews and feedback, scheduling time off, training, and employee grievances or complaints should such occur.
* *QUALIFICATIONS:*

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
* *Education and Experience*

Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or College in Business Administration or Heavy Equipment/ Diesel Mechanic related studies.

Experience: At least 2 years of management/supervisory experience for a fleet of vehicles or other applicable supervisory experience (a must).
* *Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required*
* Knowledge of basic computer skills and Microsoft Office.
* Advanced Root Cause Problem Solving.
* Effective and professional communications and customer service skills.
* Ability to anticipate business needs and plan accordingly to ensure that equipment. employee and fiscal resources are utilized in the most efficient manner.
* Ability to collaborate and encourage employee engagement.
* Good financial management and planning skills; ability to understand financial terms, budgets, tables, and reports. Ability to develop realistic, comprehensive plans to make efficient use of resources.
* Automotive Service Excellence T2 Diesel Engine, T Master Certified. T3 Drive T4 Brake TS Suspension and Steering.
