What Account Management contributes to Cardinal Health Account Management is responsible for cultivating and maintaining on-going customer relationships with an assigned set of customers. Provides new and existing customers with the best possible service and recommendations in relation to billing inquiries, service requests, improvements to internal and external processes, and other areas of opportunity. Provides product service information to customers and identifies upselling opportunities to maintain and increase income streams from customer relationships. Accountabilities Responsible for the development and management of business relationships with Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) companies and Health Plans Provide assistance to our customers in understanding and navigating the healthcare landscape with our Managed Care Solutions that include PSAO Services, Reconciliation, Reimbursement Consulting Services (RCS), among others Responsible in maintaining and ensuring monthly customer invoicing via our internal service income tool Demonstrates basic knowledge of network and payor concepts necessary for building a business and marketing plan, as well as identifying appropriate channels to market. Has the ability to understand managed care trends, competitive positioning, as needed Maintaining high level relationships with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), the Network, and other managed care vendors Exhibits an ability to translate market and customer needs into clearly defined goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive sales and profitability for the business. Accountable for gaining and driving cross functional support from all stakeholder Identifies and remains current on payor market and reimbursement trends. Determines product/service lifecycle implications and makes recommendations to maintain market competitiveness to achieve sustainable economic success Understands the regulatory environment surrounding payor relations, reimbursement, and health policy Works effectively across cross functional groups including but not limited to IT, communications, operations, sales, and finance Comprehends how customers' businesses relate to Cardinal Health's overall portfolio and prioritizes tasks to align with business objectives Maintains reporting tools and metric tracking systems by continually updating data Demonstrates working knowledge of customer relationship management, sales, and operations functions Manages intermediate and less routine customer transactions on a daily basis with a focus on quality improvement Manages and supports service functions for multiple accounts Qualifications Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration 2 years experience in Payor Relations is preferred Experience in Health Care is preferred Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Must have organization and analytical skills What is expected of you and others at this level Applies working knowledge in the application of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolve Applies judgment within defined parameters Receives general guidance; may receive more detailed instruction on new projects Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy Cardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
