Leads employee relations team in the effective management of employee relations work. Manages a team of ER Partners while fostering and maintaining a culture of inclusion and diversity, ensuring strong engagement across the team. Coaches, develops, manages performance, and provides direction to ER team. Maintains excellent relationships within the HR community, with business leaders and across Medtronic to promote employee satisfaction and ensure a positive working environment. Provides advice, counseling and guidance to all levels of management and staff on company employee relations issues, policies and procedures, and best practices. Assists in the development of employee relations strategy, managing the team in the development of work plans that advance the strategy, in partnership with employee relations team and HR leadership. Leads the team of ER Partners to drive proactive strategies and action plans to improve organizational effectiveness and address key areas of opportunity. Partners with other ER Managers, HR Leaders, local business leaders, HRBP's, Legal and Corporate Ethics & Compliance Team on issues regarding employee relations. Ensures consistency in approach and manages team in the development, improvement, and execution of efficient, effective employee relations processes. Ensures equitable and consistent interpretation and application of Medtronic policies, practices and procedures that create and maintain an engaged employee environment, help create the desired local culture, and minimize organizational risk/cost. Manages direct team in conducting investigations and reporting. Responsible for completing more complex investigations/issues, and triaging where applicable. Provides coaching and guidance to customers in performance improvement and corrective action decisions, communication and documentation, while being able to translate complexity into simplicity and articulate findings clearly. Leads team in these activities and may handle more complex, escalated cases directly. Participates in and manages change management activities. Consults with and coaches local business leaders in the same. Leverages change management principles in accomplishing key objectives and managing projects for own work and the work of direct reports. Works with local leaders regarding the need for and resourcing of positive employee relations solutions for operations/manufacturing and professional staff. Provides information and education programs regarding employee relations topics, as well as works to build manager skillsets in employee relations competencies. Analyzes data and metrics information to identify trends and deliver proactive solutions to build manage skill sets and minimize risk in the organization. Addresses workplace violence and potential workplace violence issues following Medtronic protocol and best practice approaches, in partnership with appropriate stakeholders. May manage or participate in project work to support business or other Human Resources initiatives. Must Have: Minimum Requirements Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5 years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5 years of managerial experience Is A Bachelor's Degree Required? Yes Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) Must be located in a Latin American country Strong understanding of Latin American culture and country specific legal requirements Demonstrated Employee Relations experience Understanding of Labor Relations/Implementing Proactive solutions Nice to Have Master's Degree (BA/BS) in Human Resource, Organizational Development, Labor Relations or related field. Broad-based generalist or Employees Relations experience with demonstrated success in two or more of the following: business acumen, organization development, training, change management, performance management, career development and employee relations Capability to apply discretion and sound judgment in managing complex processes, decisions and handling sensitive information.
