Plans, directs, and coordinates the operations of production, machinery, processing, and packaging Essential Duties & Responsibilities LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors team members turnover; identifies key factors that can be improved; makes improvements Collaborates with Human Resources with the hiring activities, as per workcell business forecast outlook Identifies individual and team strengths and development needs, on an ongoing basis Coaches and mentors all workcell leaders to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer Collaborates with Human Resources with succession plans for all workcell leaders Establishes clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results Performs team member performance evaluations professionally and on time Drives individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational goals Knows and understands the business unit strategic directions Defines, develops, and implements a manufacturing strategy, which contributes to the business unit strategic directions Reports best practices with other workcells to drive business unit wide improvements Identifies creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems Utilizes tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value Provides on going feedback to functional managers on team member's contribution to the workcell. Expresses pride in team and encourage members of the workcell to feel good about their accomplishments. Ensures recognition and rewards are recommended fairly and consistently in the workcell to functional managers Lead by example Ensures all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately. TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates a commitment to customer service; anticipates, meets, and exceeds expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority Trains the workcell team on the validity of management by metrics and with the team monitor all workcell metrics. Drives continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management. Ensures 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality) Ensures all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately Takes ownership of relevant manufacturing pieces of JOS tools like QRQC & LPA, as applicable to workcell COST MANAGEMENT: Develops the monthly business unit forecast with the Business Unit Director. Identifies creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value added processes or complete re-engineering of processes and systems) Utilizes tools to monitor department costs and cost trends, striving continuously improve value. Provides feedback to Business Unit Director and Operations Manager on costs and cost trends. FORECAST DEVELOPMENT AND ACCURACY: Prepares timely forecasts for the workcell. Compares forward forecast results and historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis. Completes variance of actual results vs the forecast on time and communicate results to Business Unit Director, Operations Manager and Workcell Team. May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
