Location/Division Specific Information Instrument and Enterprise Services in Juncos, Puerto Rico How will you make an impact? The Media Supervisor act as liaison on behalf of customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific to deliver consistently high quality custom Media and buffer solutions to our clients that support them to achieve their goals and objectives. What will you do? The Media Supervisor is responsible for the daily leadership of 3-9 Site UnityTM Lab Services personnel. Report internal/external metrics to Regional Manager. Active participate as a UnityTM Lab Services subject matter expert for all GXP audit or audit readiness activates. Prepare high quality specialized media, including buffers, microbial agar plates, mammalian cell culture media, and antibiotics. Perform specific tasks associated with media preparation, including but not limited to pH titration, osmolality adjustment, sterile filtration techniques, and aliquots. Verification, calibration, and use of common and specialized laboratory equipment including, but not limited to magnetic mixer, hot plate, micropipettors, autoclave, balances, laminar flow and fume hoods, pH and conductivity meters, osmometers, Blood Gas Analyzers, vacuum filtration, peristaltic pumps, and Nitrogen gas lines. Ensure all calculations, technical documentation, equipment log books and approval of completed documents are documented properly accordingly to the standard procedures, quality guidelines and federal regulations. Track laboratory equipment information including calibration schedules, open work orders, and equipment status using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CCMS). Prepare media for shipment for off-site use, including classifying media hazard category and providing required MSDS. How will you get here? Education: Bachelor's degree in Science Experience: 2-3 years of experience in Micro/Chemistry laboratory setting or services Experience and knowledge of the Quality guidelines and federal regulations (GXP) environment, such as manufacturing (GMP), distribution (GDP), laboratory (GLP) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Proven excellence in customer service skills. Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environment Computer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Highly effective verbal and written communication skills – Spanish & English.
