Job Summary: This position is responsible for preparing estate tax and fiduciary income tax returns in compliance with tax laws and regulations. You will work in a team environment with senior estate tax professionals, as well as estate settlement administrators. You will interact with clients, legal and tax professionals, internal partners, and taxing authorities, on matters relating to federal and state estate and fiduciary income taxes, and post- mortem tax issues. Major Duties: 1. Researches, reviews, and annually prepares approximately 20 Federal Estate Tax Returns Form 706, related state Estate or Inheritance Tax Returns, if applicable, and IRS Form 8971 if necessary; and approximately 150 Federal and state fiduciary income tax returns, all in compliance with tax laws. 2. Works on various tax return preparation software, including BNA 706 Preparer and OneSource Trust Tax, as well as excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Access. 3. Assists in tax planning, researches, prepares, and monitors specific reports. 4. Works closely with the estate attorneys, accountants, and related professionals. 5. Will interact with Federal and state tax authorities and auditors. Qualifications: Knowledge in the area of estate tax and fiduciary income tax, trust or estate settlement is desired. Excellent interpersonal, analytical research, and tax management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, work both independently and collaboratively, to problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment. Prior experience working with BNA 706 Preparer and OneSource Trust Tax is desirable, but not required. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite are required.
