Position Summary: The Media Lead is responsible for the daily leadership of 3-9 Site UnityTM Lab Services personnel, enabling the team to deliver consistently high quality custom Media and buffer solutions to our clients. The Media Lead is responsible for assisting in meeting the goals and objectives of the customer location, as determined by customer requirements. This can include production scheduling, training activities, providing subject matter expertise, and safety representation. Act as liaison on behalf of customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific. Responsibilities: Prepare high quality specialized media, including buffers, microbial agar plates, mammalian cell culture media, and antibiotics Perform specific tasks associated with media prep, including but not limited to pH titration, osmolality adjustment, sterile filtration techniques, and aliquots Verification, calibration, and use of common and specialized lab equipment including, but not limited to magnetic mixer, hot plate, micropipettors, autoclave, balances, laminar flow and fume hoods, pH and conductivity meters, osmometers, Blood Gas Analyzers, vacuum filtration, peristaltic pumps, and Nitrogen gas lines Verification of peer calculations, technical documentation, equipment log books, and approval of completed documents Technical writing of media prep documents in standard client procedure format. May use electronic document database to author, route, and review technical documents Perform equipment verifications and calibrations following customer and manufacturers protocols May track lab equipment information including calibration schedules, open work orders, and equipment status using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CCMS) Promote a safe work environment through various safety initiatives within functional area Participate in individual or group projects that can include, cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing job training methods, and leading team meetings Primary trainer for new-hires and cross training Media activities May prepare media for shipment for off-site use, including classifying media hazard category and providing required MSDS Assist in the development of Media group and individual staff goals Prepare custom formulated media and coordinate with scientific staff on formulation and troubleshooting as necessary Ensure and follow the compliance with GXP guidelines during the preparation as required and maintain appropriate records Serve as the first point of contact for any Media matters or concerns, including Media quality, Service Level Agreements, and staff interactions Active participate as a ULS subject matter expert for all GXP audit or audit readiness activates Report internal/external metrics to Regional Manager Perform GXP equipment verifications and calibrations following approved procedures Review/Approve GXP documents on an as needed basis Maintain safety awareness, by maintaining and authoring Work Instructions, assisting with Job Hazard Assessments, and performing PPE assessments Prioritize and schedule work for ULS staff Provide technical expertise and training to ULS staff Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Must possess a minimum of a Associates degree in related field. A Bachelor's degree is preferred Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills 2-3 years of progressive relevant experience preferred Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific Must maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics' Four-I Values Experience in laboratory setting or services preferred Experience in GXP environment preferred Proven excellence in customer service skills Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environment Computer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 70,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
