Technical Writer Remote Position SLI Government Solutions (SLI) is exclusively focused on helping government agencies improve the quality of services they provide and attaining positive outcomes for system modernization projects and program improvement initiatives. SLI has specialized expertise in program design and development, program improvement strategies, child welfare, and child support programs. We are a leading provider of Independent Verification and Validation, Quality Assurance, Program Management, and Test Management for large technology-intensive application development projects such as Medicaid, Eligibility, Child Support Enforcement, Transportation, and Unemployment Insurance/Labor. The Technical Writer will work closely with the Proposal Manager, and other stakeholders in writing winning proposals. Duties & Responsibilities: Review RFPs and works with Proposal Manager to develop proposal writing plan. Gather information by interviewing Subject Matter Experts and write various proposal sections, including technical approach, executive summaries, past performance/qualification summaries and resumes. Review/rewrite proposal inputs and coordinate with management personnel to ensure accuracy. Create document flow diagrams and other graphics to illustrate technical concepts. Maintain quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone. Identify and communicate risks associated with proposals. Required Education and Other Credentials: BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience Certification, formal training, experience or demonstrated competency may be evaluated and considered in lieu of the educational requirements Must have a valid driver's license Required Experience and Skills: Must be trained in industry standard process from Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), or an independent proposal training firm like Shipley Associates Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines. Desktop publishing/formatting skills a plus. Familiar with latest IT terminologies. Familiar with software development methodologies. Strong skills in interpersonal communication, writing, and organization. Excellent writing skills, strong ability to summarize data concisely. Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation.
