Job Description Position Overview – Responsible to producing tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing processes. Work with Design Engineering with development of prototypes. Essential Job Functions · Develop and machine prototypes for Design Engineering. · Machine/manufacture small lots of parts for manufacturing (generally less than 10 piece lots that would be required by Assembly). · Machine, alter, repair and maintain fixtures and tools used shop wide (not including cutting tools). · Assist in the repair, rebuilding, refurbishing, and construction of production equipment. · Perform general machining and repair operations as required for day-to-day operations. · Must be able utilize all Model equipment; included but not limited to hand lathes, knee mills and surface grinders. (CNC lathe and mill capability is ideal but not required) · Must be able to read, interpret and follow all blueprints and instructions and be able to determine and select appropriate gauging. · Is responsible for quality of all products leaving the department. · Follow all company safety rules and report any unsafe acts to immediate supervisor · Must have full understanding of all company processes, procedures and rules as stated in the Peter Paul Electronic Company Employee Handbook. · Perform any other duties as directed by immediate supervisor. Requirements · Minimum of 5 years experience in setup up types of equipment identified in Machine Group A · Computer literacy · Trainability · Ability to make sound decisions and accept responsibility, · Ability to work with others, · Understanding of the Lean Enterprise Tool Non-essential Job Functions · Participate in company problem resolution teams. · Participate in company Kaizen events. · Support the strategic goals and vision of the organization by promoting reduction of lead times and contributing to the overall experience of our customers.
