The training programs are categorized in three main areas: Regulatory, Area/Work, and Development. The Training Specialist develops, organizes and collaborates with the area leaders and personnel to makes sure that the training programs in place for all these areas are being conducted, properly documented, and measured for effectiveness of ensure compliance and/identify opportunities for continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Regulatory Trainings: 1. PSM Training and Performance Element Champion 2. Core Process Owner of Training and Communication for ISO 3. Partner with the subject matter experts for the applicable regulatory programs to ensure trainings are up to date and compliant, being delivered to taken on time, and are properly documented. 4. Establish processes and metrics to monitor that the training requirements are being met in the correct frequencies and schedules and are being effective. Area/Work Trainings: 1. Partner with area leaders and personnel from all areas of the plant to ensure area training procedures and programs are up to date, being delivered on time, properly documented and effective. 2. Engage with the new hire training activities. 3. Certify and develop trainers. 4. Review and file all training documentation. 5. Collaborate in the review and update area procedures as needed. 6. Maintain tools and metrics to ensure personnel trainings are being completed on time Development Programs: 1. Partner with area leaders and personnel from all areas of the plant to identify, develop, and document development training opportunities. These may be at individual as well as group level. 2. Network with company resources to understand development programs and tools available. Databases, Record Management, and other activities: 1. Become an expert on the training databases used such as: The Learning Manager 2. Maintain training records in compliance with Corporate Records Retention Guidelines 3. Support campaigns such as Legal Eagle to ensure all employee comply with the deadlines. REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with high standards and very good performance. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. A 4 year degree and more than 3 yrs. experience in a manufacturing environment with training programs. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write/prepare reports, business correspondence and procedures/manuals. Ability to effectively present information and provide information to management, clients, customers, and general public. Must be fully bilingual in written and spoken language (Spanish and English). Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as figures, amounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, and graphical representations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. COMPETENCIES: Teamwork and Collaboration – able to engage with and interact with employees and contractors in different areas and levels of the plant. Judgment and Troubleshooting – able to identify opportunities and/or issues, resolve or drive to resolution by engaging others as needed. Communication – able to communicate clearly to individuals or groups of people. Able to adjust depending on the audience being addressed. Computer - computer skills for Excel, Word, Power Point, SAP. Can easily learn to use systems. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Must be able to use safety equipment for extended periods of time, as needed. The noise, temperature and lighting conditions in the work environment is usually moderate. This position is not subject to extreme conditions. This role provides support to an operation that runs 7/24, therefore requirement to provide support outside normal work schedule may be required. SDL2017
