Job Description SUMMARY Amgen is searching for an Undergrad Coop full time student to support Engineering Department within the AML6 Drug Substance facilities. This role will report to a Senior Manager Engineer and will be based on Amgen Manufacturing Limited Juncos' site. The student will have the opportunity to support the Department's projects, activities and daily operations in Amgen Manufacturing Limited through the use of related technical concepts and tools. The temporary Undergrad CO-OP assignment will be supporting the AML6 Engineering Department for six months, based on business needs and can be extended up to one year. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of minor scope and complexity. Under general supervision will evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures. Support special projects (i.e. SIP Optimization, PCS & Instrument System Database) Perform meetings to provide status of assigned projects Portrait information using Power Point, Excel, Word Work with other departments to develop requirements and recommendations for Process Control System modifications. Under direct supervision will evaluate and develop process control applications using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and/ or VBA programming Meet milestones and deliver high quality results Improve operational efficiency and productivity Participate in continuous improvement initiatives Ability to evaluate documentation and operations according to company procedures Interact constructively with peers Work with minimum supervision BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering At Least 3.00 GPA (General) Have completed at least 3 years of college education Be enrolled in School Not yet graduated Be pursuing an applicable degree or course of study PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills in: Collaboration, negotiation, persuasion, basic project management, ensuring completion and follow up.
