Unit Description Unit Marketing Specialist/ PR and Communication Specialist Description/ Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Public Relations Specialist to support Seminole Dining at Florida State University. Our PR Specialist is a highly skilled writer and dedicated team player within the Marketing Department. They are a strategic member within a creative department who can execute all aspects of the brand awareness, event promotion and industry recognition. Qualified candidates must be able to handle multiple PR projects, be cool under pressure and add expertise to brand storytelling through creative and technical writing with multichannel outreach. PR communications must be targeted campaigns that address all aspects of Seminole Dining to drive engagement and recognition. Day to day work includes substantial timely targeted PR campaigns to achieve defined metrics and goals of promoting Seminole Dining brand awareness, local and national industry recognition, and annual increase in published rankings. Join our team JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: -Coordinate various PR campaigns and marketing initiatives with integrated communications strategies -Develop topics and written content for trade magazines, local regional and national publications, irrelevant conferences and other strategic projects Track and build all publications document that Semiole Dining is published or recongized in. -Work closely with Marketing Director, Digital Content, Analytics and Graphic Design teams and university stakeholders to coordinate ongoing promotions and packages to communicate on Seminole Dining websites, social media and email campaigns and curate relevant content for all audiences -Assist Inside Sales team with email campaigns, content and sales collateral targeting all consumers athletic event attendees, camps and conferences Promote brand awareness and Seminole dining ranking and recognition throughout key industry publications and convention outlets -Follow and engage with social media industry influencers for each property to build a following -Assist with preparation of analytics based social insights and content strategy recommendations -Excellent communication and self-management skills -Be up to date on relevant events and holidays and deploy PR and marketing communications around key dates (athletic events, new restaurant openings, academic calendar events, etc.) -Communicate weekly reports to respective stakeholders -Create social media ads to promote dining, catering, athletics and other relevant initiatives -Continually update multichannel media best practices and keep abreast of current industry trends, resources and strategies -Liaise with stakeholders to collaborate on content creation -Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Brand Marketing platforms, Content management systems, paid search applications, HTML and Adobe Creative Cloud -Leads photography process - Schedule shoots, budgets, attends shoots, ensure brand photography standards are met, edits, approves and distributes digital assets across all relevant brand and all digital channels -Creative and strategic mind set is a must -Attend industry related networking events and meetings as needed Collaborate with Florida State Univeristies Communications department and keep them informed on Seminole Dining events, publications, and news. COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: -Candidate must be a highly skilled writer and editor -Must be proactive and a self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment -Must be proficient in Microsoft office Must be detailed-oriented, have strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple diverse projects -Ensure brand messages are consistent and enforce brand marketing guidelines -Illustrate strong communications skills and comfortable working with a team, university counterparts, and business partners -Must be able to take direction from others and have common knowledge of business and marketing practices -Must be a team-player and know how to follow-through on assignments -Excellent written, verbal and oral communications skills to produce and develop strong and effective communications and PR campaigns -Ability to support execution of corporate and university strategies -Proven strategic thinking with strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and problem solve, ability to identify and use relevant data to positively impact revenues, consumer satisfaction and industry recognition -Working knowledge of university dining, food service Industry, marketing and revenue management processes and procedures Position Summary This position leads coordinated efforts in implementing and deploying unit marketing growth and customer satisfaction and retention strategies. Leads unit marketing plan development, implementation, communication and evaluation with analysis, training and engagement. Leads projects and is a resource for a strategic area. Can work as a project manager and/or liaison for marketing strategies, concepts and projects.Key Duties-Student Engagement: Engaging student body with promotions and programs to increase customer satisfaction and retention-Partnerships: Partner with University for special events-Web/Social Media: Increase Website and Social Media presence through Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.-Must have high energy, flexible, team oriented but work independently, and be a multi-tasker.
