The Unit Secretary performs general clerical duties by preparing, compiling and maintaining patient records and facilitates communication pathways for unit activities.Records appropriate, correct and complete information on all medical record forms, patient charts and pathways.
Education:
Graduation from high school/GED; some college preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three years recent secretarial experience required.
Medical secretarial experience preferred.
Typing of 20 wmp required, test given.
Proficient in Windows/Microsoft Office preferred.
Ability to use general office equipment.
Knowledge of Medical terminology preferred.
Minimum one year recent experience as general transcriptionist.
Demonstrates well developed written and verbal communication skills.
