Upper Elementary School Teacher
Position Summary:
Saint John's School, a Toddler to 12-grade co-ed secular school, actively seeks a dynamic and seasoned individual to join our team. The role of the Elementary School Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. This position involves designing age-appropriate lessons, collaborating with colleagues, and maintaining open communication with families to ensure student success and well-being.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, preferably within a private or independent school setting.
Deep understanding of child development and effective instructional practices for young learners.
Patience, flexibility, and passion for working with young children.
Exemplary work ethic, a positive demeanor, adaptability, and a willingness to undertake assigned tasks.
Demonstrating a deep passion for and staying informed about current advancements in educational theory and practice.
Excellent written and oral skills in both English and Spanish a must.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to build rapport with children, families and school staff required.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with school curriculum, state standards, and best practices in education.
Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Differentiate instruction to accommodate students with varying learning styles, abilities, and needs.
Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
Provide timely feedback to students and maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Communicate effectively and consistently with parents and guardians through conferences, written reports, and other means.
Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area colleagues, special educators, and support staff to plan instruction and support students.
Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, curriculum planning, and school-wide events.
Supervise students in the classroom, during transitions, and in non-instructional settings such as lunch, recess, field trips, and assemblies.
Uphold school policies, promote school values, and contribute positively to the school culture.
