Job Description Seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeons to provide on-site Cardiothoracic Surgery services at a Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate will possess a full & unrestricted license & is BC/BE by the ABTS. Job Quick Facts: • Ref#: IC-CTS-0122 • Profession: Physician • Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery • Location: San Juan, PR • Facility Type: Medical Center • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Job Type: Contract (1 year) • Start Date: Jun 1, 2024 • Shift Schedule: Mon & Wed; 7a-3:30p • Call Schedule: - Mon & Weds; 3:30p-7a - 24-hr. shifts; Tues, Thurs, Fri, & possible weekends/holidays • Call Response Time: 30 mins. • Cardiac Procedures CRT: 60 mins. • Procedures: - VATs - Lobectomy, Thoracotomy, Pleurectomy - Diaphragm Plication, Chest Wall Hernia Repair - Decortication, Chest Tube Management w/tPA - Complex Cardiothoracic Surgery Procedures - Cath Lab Procedures Requirements: • Full & unrestricted license in any state (within US Territory) • BC/BE by the ABTS • DEA • NPI • BLS, ACLS Responsibilities: • Perform initial patient evaluations at IP, OP, & ED settings. • Conduct surgical procedures at OR, including but not limited to Permanent Pacemaker Implant (in emergency cases), Pacemaker Lead Extraction (back up), Pericardial Window &/or Pericardiectomy Procedures, & back-up for Interventional Cardiology (PCI) cases. • Provide post-operative care & manage patient follow-up. • Communicate test results to providers & patients in accordance with directive. • Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions. • Educate & supervise health professions trainees according to guidelines. • Participate in admin tasks including discussion of cases during Cardiac Board and biweekly surgical M&M meetings as required for CT cases on Fridays 7:30a – 9a. • Participate in Professional Practice Review of Providers System. • Fulfill any other duties as outlined by the facility.
