Job Description Position Responsibilities\Requirements: Ensure the proper day-to-day operation of technology applications and equipment. Provide desk-side assistance in resolving technology support issues. Perform installations, repairs, upgrades, backups, and other maintenance tasks. May have expertise in commonly used business applications. May also handle phone and email assistance as well. General Duties and Responsibilities: Provides day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment. Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. May participate in the development of information technology and infrastructure projects. Educational Requirements: High school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of work, training, and experience General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to verbalize or express complex technical concepts effectively in writing and overall excellent communication and customer interface skills Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience Excellent team player Self-motivated to learn new technology and new ways to deliver support Shows enthusiasm when providing technical support Stays up-to-date with the latest technology Entry level role. Basic skills with moderate level of proficiency. Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field & Knowledge of basic problem resolution/escalation practices. Generally performs single-function tasks that tend to be of small to moderate size and scope. Works under close to moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment. Consults with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience. Typically requires up to three (3) years of experience. Typically reports to a Computer Operations Supervisor or Manager.
