General Description
Help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Commercial & Surety Practices Group. You will be responsible for providing customer service and insurance advice for a portfolio of commercial customers, soliciting of new business on existing accounts and support of Producer-led new business efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop deep understanding of client operations and risk exposures.
Identify specific client needs and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions working in team with Insurance Producer.
Ensure that all recommendations developed throughout the risk management process are understood and handled by the customer.
Serve as customer’s day-to-day point of contact for ongoing service needs. Coordinate and lead the strategy for the account renewal and the ongoing activity and requirements during the year, working with Insurance Agencies in the marketing process and the negotiations with the underwriters.
Provide support to the Insurance Brokers with the prospective clients explaining features and merits of policies offered, recommending amount and type of coverage based on analysis of prospect's circumstances.
Provide support to Insurance producer in achieving sales budget and promotes selling of insurance products and services.
Assist the customer during the claim process.
Coordinate with the Claims Department and ensure smooth communication and coordination with the client. Review customers’ claims reports with the claims unit to identify risk and develop loss control reports/initiative that can mitigate the customers’ risk.
Expand the existing insurance programs with our clients; develop and manage client relationships in order to increase penetration sales and cultivate new business opportunities.
Gain and maintain a thorough understanding and knowledge of available Popular resources and solutions, and match those to client business requirements.
Participates in special activities representing Popular Risk Services.
Design and maintain the stewardship report prepared to fulfill the risk management services.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or other
Experience
Minimum three (3) years of commercial insurance experience with a brokerage, preferably.
Certifications / Licenses
The following certifications and/or licenses are recommended:
Property & Casualty Licenses
CISR or CIC Designation
Other Qualifications

Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions.
Oral and written Communication in Spanish and English. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Demonstrates group presentation skills. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively.
Proficiency in Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheet, Internet, other related software.
Knowledge of Insurance products, services, underwriting, and business laws and regulations.
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Knowledge of internal and competitors’ products and services to provide the quality in service advise.
Demonstrate ability in project coordination, identification of business needs, work plan, budget control, time management, resource allocation, team management, status reports and implement changes. Must demonstrate leadership, logic, and reasoning skills.
