Posting Description In September 2017, hurricanes Irma and Maria barreled across Puerto Rico, causing unprecedented damage and leaving up to 780,000 homes damaged, according to Puerto Rican officials. In addition to the destruction, the storms exacerbated longstanding and persistent housing issues and challenges on the island. Over the next five years, Habitat for Humanity will partner directly with hurricane-affected families to address their shelter needs, as well as work with the Puerto Rican government and local municipalities on policies and systems that will improve shelter, land and resilience issues across the island. We are currently hiring for a dynamic Accounting Professional to be part of our San Juan Finance Team. Duites would be as follows Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted HFHI policies and procedures. Maintain accounting control procedures, including but not limited to, offsite inventory management and reconciliation and cash fund control Ensure accurate and timely processing of all vendor activity Ensure accurate and timely reporting from the regional projects in the field. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closing. Assist in financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process. Assist in fixed assets inventory, revaluation process, payroll calculation and bank register up-dating. Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities. Reconcile mortgages of partner families Required Working knowledge of accounting systems and sub-ledgers. Computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) Navison/Sun Systems & accounting/book keeping training Team player with strong communication skills Ability to analyze/resolve issues with minimal supervision, communicating appropriate issues to manager Good attention to detail Moderate to advanced Spanish and English language skills Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Degree Minimum Experience in Related Role 3 Years SDL2017
