Provide advice to the firm on financial decisions, including tax issues that would affect the company. Secures financial operations by monitoring and approving financial processing, reporting, and auditing; supervising staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.Meets accounting financial standards by providing accounting department annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.Maintains cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements; investing excess funds.Approves cash disbursements by verifying check amounts against invoices, authorizing checks and wire transfers.Approves ledger entries by auditing transactions.Renews business insurance by scheduling values including personal and real property, vehicles, computers, equipment, media, and accounts receivable.Supports annual audit by providing information and answers to auditors.Verifies employee benefit invoices by verifying coverage and costs.Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Responsible for recording employees' absences and tardiness and identify occurrences according to Attendance and Tardiness Policy.Follows all policies and procedures of Liberty Latin America, including Code of Conduct, The Customer 1st Philosophy and all safety established standards.Other functions that may be assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises and provides mentorship to a group of employees in the Finance Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Skills you'll Use Every Single Day:Adaptability & FlexibilityCreativity and InnovationCustomer FocusInitiativeCompany AmbassadorshipIntegrity and EthicsLearning OrientationResults OrientationQuality OrientationCollaborationJob Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Analytical ThinkingProblem SolvingTeamworkChange ManagementLeadershipLeading PeopleBusiness InsightPlanning/OrganizingAttention to DetailEducation and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.Four years of accounting experience including one year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.Experience in writing internal policies and procedures and process evaluation and documentation.Other Qualifications: Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English).Knowledge of modern and complex principles and practices of general and fund accounting.Knowledge of methods and techniques of financial auditing.Principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting.Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other specialized applications related to area of assignment.Strong analytical skills. Detail oriented and ability to work and interpret figures and other financial information.Strong organizational skills with ability to manage several projects at a time.Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.Ability to identify and implement applicable procedures.Ability to maintain and prepare a variety of complex financial documents, reports, and analyses.Able to analyze and interpret complex financial and accounting records.Why Join Us:Technology excites us, enables us and drives us.
