Applications Manager

The Applications Manager will be responsible for leading the initiatives and performance of the organization’s business applications. This entails leading, planning, reviewing and controlling project and support activities. In addition to process improvement and vendor management, this person needs to be skilled in the selection and deployment of cost effective technology solutions. He/she needs to have the ability to gain an understanding of the inner-workings and logic of existing applications to effectively support and lead the team in the right direction. It is important for this person to quickly absorb functional requirements and to effectively guide the business and technical team through development and deployment of these solutions. He/she must be an effective communicator with business leaders, vendors, and technical personnel. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILLS: · 10 years in Systems · 6 years in a leadership role · 6 years in Project Management · 5 years as a Developer or Architect · 5 years SQL or Database experience · Experience with interfaces to Financials systems (preferably Oracle or SAP) · Understanding of general Financials concepts · Development methodologies such as Agile or others · Modeling tools · Project Management tools · Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems or a related field or equivalent experience (minimum10 years) required · Problem solving skills · Patience, flexibility, and strong customer service skills · Proven Leadership in an Information Technology environment
