As an Associate Data Engineer, you will be accountable for building new, data-intensive software products and applications that are focused on bringing the healthcare data together. These products are mostly analytical in nature and we use advanced technologies in big data space to provide a cutting-edge solution to solve business opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design, code, test, document, and maintain high-quality and scalable Big Data solutions
Research, evaluate, and deploy new tools, frameworks and patterns to build sustainable Big Data platform
Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutions
Be innovative in solution design and development to meet the needs of the business
Define and develop APIs for integration with various data sources in the enterprise
Analyze and define customer requirements
Assist in defining product technical architecture
Create prototypes, proof-of-concepts and design and code reviews
Collaborate with management, quality assurance, architecture, and other development teams
Write technical documentation and participate in production support
Demonstrate substantial depth of knowledge and experience in a specific area of Big Data
Troubleshooting production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
1+ year of experience using Hadoop in Data Architecture or Data Engineering or ETL
1+ year of experience in Hive or Spark or Scala or Kafka or Python or R or Talend or Informatica
Bilingual (Spanish / English)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
Experience with big data technologies
Experience with data ingestion from relational databases
Big Data Application Developmentspecific skills: SQOOP, Spark, Hive, SQL, Python
Understanding of Agile / Scrum methodology
Knowledge in job automation e.g. Cron jobs, Oozie
Experience performing data analysis
Health care industry experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively gather requirements, probe for deeper understanding, and translate deep technical concepts to non-technical as well as technical senior stakeholders, marketing customers, and data scientists
Demonstrated ability to prioritize deliverables
Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
Skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
