General Description
The Category and Sourcing Advisor is responsible for planning and executing the strategic activities that support the procurement of goods and services defined within categories. These activities include monitoring the market for new or updated capabilities; working closely with the bank’s businesses to understand their procurement needs and requirements; working with vendors to prepare and respond to the needs of the business stakeholders; preparing and executing competitive sourcing processes (RFx’s); evaluating vendor proposals and offerings according to businesses needs and negotiating and executing vendor contracts. Manage the categories on an on-going basis post contract execution, identify vendor or category performance goals, and monitor vendor performance and improvement metrics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategically partner with the businesses to assess current/future business requirements, utilize this information for planning purposes and Uncover sourcing opportunities in the market through research / analysis. Establish relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication channels exist, to identify business requirements and to align sourcing strategies and options with business strategie.
Plan and execute the sourcing activities for the category, ensuring a cross-functional team is established and involved

Create and manage bids or proposals incorporating business requirements, commercial requirements, and appropriate attachments.
Apply forecasting skills including cash/cost, pricing models to evaluate options and make recommendations to support the needs of the business and the cost reduction goals of the team
Identify and provide input into vendor scorecard elements, based on contractual requirements and KPI’s.
Provide suggestions, create efficiencies, and identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve the sourcing process.
Identify and engage new sources of supply, review, and on-board vendors per the defined process.
Resident expert in contract negotiation & contract development
Analyze contractual clauses, work closely with legal counselors to propose alternatives, and create negotiable language for service agreement.
Resolve complex contract related issues with vendors as needed.
Focus on long-term category expertise & development
Conduct supply market & internal needs / demands
Resident expert in sourcing policy, procedures & processes
Lead sourcing negotiations
Create commercial term based on negotiated proposal to discuss with vendors and internal clients.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering
Experience
Experience negotiating with vendors, managing client relationships, executing sourcing or procurement activities, working in the banking industry, performing financial analysis and/or managing 3rd party contracts, all strongly preferred. Experience in project management and/or procurement of services preferable.
Other Qualifications
Experience in Facilities Management Services and Real Estate related services, preferred
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
Strong commercial analytical skills
Ability to perform critical evaluation of proposals
Ability to lead competitive processes according to guidelines
Understanding of Vendor Performance Management
Strategic planning skills
Ability to work with procurement technology and processes
Ability to monitoring compliance with policy, procedures, and processes
Contract Management- ability to resolve contract related issues
Ability to manage Vendor relationships
