General Description Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for commercial loans. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Interviews applicant and its credit proposal(s) and/or financial need(s). Requests applicant's financial statements and its related financial information credit reports, background checks and any other related information pertinent to credit applicant's proposal(s). Analyzes applicant financial statistics, credit structure(s), collateral and risk/reward metrics, among other matters, to determine feasibility of granting a credit(s) as proposed. Anticipates and assesses the risks associated with entering into a lending relationship under a wide range of economic scenarios. Also, ensures that credit agreements are structured to be relevant, supportive and competitive for the Bank and our customers on an ongoing basis. Corresponds with or interviews applicant to resolve pending issues in regard to application proposal(s). Completes loan package and facilitates negotiation of credit structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms and conditions by assuring timely loan closing and funding activities. Approves loan within his or hers approving authority granted by the Bank according to Bank's policies and regulations, as applicable. If total exposure exceeds his or hers approving authority, recommends proposed credit structured to Bank's Credit Supervisors and/or Credit Committee for corresponding approval. Ensures loan agreements and its related legal documents are complete and accurate according to Bank's policies /regulations and credit approval. In term of cash management risks, Credit Officer performs credit risk assessment of an existing merchant by developing a good understanding of the business profile to ensure compliance with credit, fraud, regulations and legal matters. Recommends and implements appropriate changes to establishment policies and procedures when applicable. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting Experience At least four years of experience managing commercial credit and non credit products.
