Care teams require leveraging more clinical data that can then be factored into care options for the patient. The medical imaging industry has a great opportunity to take advantage of new mechanisms, devices, and workflows to display enhanced data to make improved, and evidence-based decisions. Data available from many sources, including the cloud, clinical analytics applications, and other clinical information systems will all factor into how images will play a role in improving clinical outcomes in the future. The Design Manager, as a part of the Clinical Experience team, will establish and drive the overall strategy for product design, and development execution of products focused on disrupting the medical imaging market. The Design Manager will lead and mentor an experienced agile/scrum team of Design Owners, which will be responsible for building the next generation of user experience products in enterprise imaging. The Design Manager will gain insights to lead the creative process, by consulting with various teams and resources, including; product management, UI designers, developers, clinical domain experts, end users, and senior leadership. Ownership of the creative process includes initial design concepts, to development, and finally helping to support market major roll-outs. A Design Manager will need to draw upon an extensive background in agile/scrum best practices (including agile-based product management) to effectively guide their team to success for all aspects of the UX product lifecycle, including product ideation, analysis, user personas, wireframes, interaction design, visual and UI design, user research, and validation (A/B) testing. The Design Manager will be responsible for the overall design vision of our complete suite of clinical and diagnostic imaging viewer products and will report directly to the Director of Product Management. Strategic Participation Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and key stakeholders (customers, clinical thought leaders, subject matter experts) to determine product design requirements, which will result in best-in-class clinical experiences across all enterprise imaging product areas and internal tools Ensure user interface consistency across products by developing flexible design patterns, standards and guidelines. Balance UX design best practices and visual excellence with data and analytics when leading design decisions Design Leadership Lead and grow high performing design teams within the organization. Build a commanding and deep knowledge of our customers, their needs, and pain points by leading qualitative and quantitative research efforts, including workshops. Assure your team is establishing productive customer development relationships, fueling valuable product feedback for all design aspects of the product lifecycle. Become an expert and evangelist of modern design tools and processes as required by the product vision and roadmap. Design Execution Lead and influence the creative process across designers, product management, developers, domain experts, and users from concept to development and market roll-out Lead your team to excel towards delivering to the product roadmap, while partnering closely with product management and technical leadership throughout the product development process. Manage team members' talent and skills personal development. Qualifications Required: Requires 6-8 years designing interactive experiences with consistent growth in scale and project complexity 3 years leading a team of designers designing enterprise scale software in a regulated environment Solid portfolio demonstrating experience leading and growing high performing design teams Demonstrated experience designing in agile environments Demonstrated ability to influence and lead large, complex projects from concept to delivery and continuous improvement. Demonstrated portfolio of work with a proven track record for solving difficult UX design problems and simplifying difficult requirements into user stories and intuitive interfaces for customers in an agile environment. Background: Management and leadership skills Knowledge of healthcare and imaging environment in North America is desirable Good understanding of enterprise scale technologies Expert working knowledge of standard interactive design tools and process Excellent Adobe CC or Sketch skills and familiarity with other UX tools such as Axure RP, Balsamiq and Mural Additional Skills: Collaborate, influence and direct with internal/external customers and/or business colleagues. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical device development Strong planning, decision making, judgment and organizational skills Ability to multi task and manage multiple priorities.
