Health System Pharmacy Director is responsible for providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals, health systems and other integrated healthcare providers may also consult with and advise healthcare team on prescribed medications, supplies and related processes. Accountabilities Participate on any required committee, according with the By Laws of the Hospital. Lead the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee and report it to the Faculty Committee. Will be liaison between Hospital Pharmacy Department and other Departments in the Hospital: Nursing, Quality, Faculty and Finance, among other. Develop, modify and/or implement Policies and Procedures, according with the State and Federal regulations that support the good and normal functioning of the Hospital Pharmacy Department. Ensure that the Hospital Pharmacy Department operates under the required quality and accreditation’s standards. Develop, implement and maintain programs that ensure the quality and continue improvements process in the Hospital Pharmacy Department. Supervise the acquisitions process to ensuring adequate inventory to meet the needs of patients. Manages Hospital Pharmacy Department operations and supervises the staff, according with the Human Resources’ polices and daily task in the Pharmacy. Identify personnel needs and participate in the selection and recruitment process. Provide training and lead departmental meeting to pharmacy personnel and other health professionals to compliance with the state regulations and assure the continuity of the pharmacy operations. Comply and carry out infection control practices (use of robes, hand washing, among others) in the Hospital Pharmacy Department. Ensure participation of the Hospital Pharmacy Department in meetings, activities and/or from other areas, such as: quality, safety and infection control, patient and family education program, educational activities, among others. Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelors degree in pharmacy required; PharmD preferred. Must have active Pharmacist License and Registration. A minimum of 3 years of administrative pharmacy experience is required. Strong people and attention to detail skills. Must have customer service skills. Availability to work extended hours. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) intermediate level skills are required. Fully bilingual English and Spanish oral and written is required.
