Job Description Child Friendly-Spaces (CFS) and Community-Based Children’s Activities (CBCAs) provide children with protected environments in which they participate in organized activities to play, socialize, learn, and express themselves as they rebuild their lives. The Child Protection Program Manager (aka Program Manager) will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the CFS and CBCA team and operations at multiple CFS and CBCA site(s). The position will report to the Deputy Team Leader, Programs. · The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safety and protection of children in our care. · Conduct and review assessments of CFS/CBCA facilities to identify risks for children. S/he will lead on the creation and implementation of a site plan to mitigate and reduce risks. · With inputs from the Team Leader and DTL, Programs, plan and implement recreational, educational, and psychosocial age-appropriate activities for children in youth in the CFS/CBCAs. Ensure that children’s views and feedback are incorporated. o The Program Manager is responsible for the organization and oversight of the CFS/CBCA sites. o Program Manager will convene regular meetings with CFS/CBCA site leads to identify areas for program improvement, review planned activities, and debrief at site with staff. o Program Manager will be responsible for orienting CFS/CBCA site leads to Standard Operating Procedures, documenting and filing incident reports and overseeing incident report tracker. o Program Manager will identify capacity-building opportunities for CFS/CBCA staff. o Program Manager will be creative in identifying new activities for CFS/CBCA staff. o Program Manager will coach, mentor and support CBCA side leads in providing support for children, as well as encouraging self-care · Ensure that all site leads working in the CFS/CBCA uphold Safeguarding Policy and procedures (like bathroom safety procedures) as well as principles of do no harm and confidentiality. Lead the reporting of any incidents. Program Manager will identify and refer vulnerable children to social services, if any issues are identified and as appropriate. Report any suspicious behavior and follow any mandatory reporting laws for suspected abuse, if applicable. · Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe, and respected. Promote their participating in activities and model respect for others. Respect personal information. Promote inclusivity through ensuring that all children are able to participate equally in activities, and that activities meet the needs of boys, girls, children with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. · Program Manager will be responsible for daily communication with the site lead contractor, providing updates on CFS/CBCA program and trouble-shooting any issues. · Program Manager will manage CFS/CBCA site leads. He/she will set a daily staffing plan for their site(s). Site Leads will communicate any staff gaps or issues to the Program Manager in a timely manner. ?
