General Description
Verifies, compiles, and analyzes application information for mortgage loans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews mortgage loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment. Analyze loan viability based on the mortgage system outcome. Obtain property abstract, survey, and appraisal documents. Informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey. Submits mortgage loan application file for underwriting approval. Submits approved mortgage loan file to Closing Officer for settlement. Records data on status of loans, including number of new applications and loans approved, canceled, or denied. Interviews loan applicants to document income, debt, and credit history. Requests documents for verification, such as: income tax return, bank account number, purchase agreement, and property description. Determines if applicant meets establishment standards for further consideration. Informs applicant of closing costs such as appraisal, credit report, and notary fees. Answers applicant's questions and asks for signature on information authorization forms. Calls applicant or other persons to resolve discrepancies, such as credit report showing late payment history. Informs applicant of loan denial or acceptance.

Minimum Education
+ 60 Bachelor's degree credits approved in Business Administration
Experience
At least two years of related experience.
