Manager: Learning & Development
General Description
Oversee the Corporation’s learning and development strategy at Popular to support our employees advance their skills, knowledge, and abilities. Reporting to the Center of Expertise (COE) Leader, this person will be leading a dynamic team responsible for the development and implementation of learning strategies, plans, and processes to support the organizational goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate Learning & Development Strategies and Governance
Elaborate and oversee the learning strategy to scale with corporate growth through relevant and updated content and adequate delivery channels to empower employees with the knowledge and skills needed to drive business performance.
Drive the learning communication strategy to ensure key stakeholders buy-in and program adoption.
Build strategic partnerships with senior leadership team and other business stakeholders to bridge gaps in knowledge/skills and to enhance overall results for the business.
Oversee the use of effective methodologies to assess organizational, individual, and business needs to create learning solutions and post-training evaluations to measure impact.
Direct the L&D governance for the corporation to ensure that flexible and agile, but sound processes are in place.
Lead a world class on-site Learning Center facility and coordinate efforts to ensure functions are running effectively and appropriately.
Actively collaborate in the design and development of Career/Learning paths for the organization.
Continuously innovate and implement meaningful and creative ways of learning that adapt to a dynamic and ever-changing environment including exploration of new technologies and learning content.
Ensure effective delivery and implementation of the organization’s learning and development strategies and programs.
Regulatory and Compliance training development partner
Effectively partner with the business partners in charge of regulations to support their training strategy by leveraging Success Factors – Learning Management System and eLearning expertise.
Business & Operational Excellence
Identify top of the line consultants to support the continuous learning strategy.
Manage and track budgets effectively, negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with vendors and consultants.
Work closely with management to ensure that policies, programs, and processes are developed, implemented, and consistently administered.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Coach and develop highly competent employees. Foster a spirit of teamwork allows for disagreement over ideas as well as diversity. Provide budgetary oversight.
Minimum Education
Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Psychology, or similar fields.
Experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Leadership and Management capability building, process improvement, development and implementation of action plans; corporate/strategic level responsibilities and/or management consulting, and effective leadership of a team with complex and challenging responsibilities. Experience designing and implementing training strategies (formal or informal) is desirable.
Certifications / Licenses
Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Change Management are highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s)
Knowledge in analyzing, designing, and implementing learning needs to define learning strategy.
Instructional design: Knowledge in developing content using practical adult learning methodologies.
Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods: e-learning, virtual, blended learning solutions, gamification, among others.
Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices.
Conduct regular training needs assessments and quality audits through review of key performance metrics, quality review of work products, and feedback from team members and management. Demonstrate the value and impact of learning through data analysis to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of all learning experiences, including non-KYC trainings.
Ability to work with multiple projects and tasks with minimum supervision. Capacity to achieve results according to plan ensuring the expected quality. Excellent organization capacity to define priorities, meet deadlines, and flexible to change. Knowledge on project coordination, identification of business needs, work plan, budget control, time management, resource allocation, team management and status reports. Must demonstrate leadership, logic, and reasoning skills.
Knowledge on budget administration, resources allocation, organization’s policies, and regulations. Ability to establish, conduct and track operational processes properly, and implement changes.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and staff, coach, and mentor. Demonstrate ability to lead the work of others.
Experience engaging and presenting to executives and senior leaders.
Business savvy and the ability to integrate business acumen into communications, presentations, and negotiations.
Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors.
Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Polished presentation skills, strong oral and written communication skills and fully bilingual (English/Spanish).
Computer and technological skills: proficient in MS Office 365 and other presentation software. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, such as Success Factors is a plus. Proficient in eLearning tools such as Captivate, Articulate Studio/Storyline, Photoshop/Illustrator and Flash is a plus.
