Nurse, Occupational Health Req : 190006CL_en Location: Aibonito, PR US Job Category: EHS Date Posted: 5/2/2019 5:54:44 PM Baxter International Description RESUMEN GENERAL(SUMMARY): Responsible for implementing an effective occupational health program providing the necessary professional health services to all employees in compliance to current FDA regulations, Corporate EHS guidelines and ISO Standards. Administers health management programs such as Worker's Compensation, Disability and Wellness programs. TAREAS Y RESPONSABILIDADES (DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES): Administrates and develops medical historical records. Maintains Workman Compensation documentation and records. Maintains OSHA 300 Log and accident investigation data. Supports all Medical services in the facility. Takes patient's vital signs, treats wounds, and evaluates physical condition of patient, may collect specimens for analysis. Responsible for all aspects of on-site drug testing program, including follow-up with outcomes. Full control of the Absenteeism Program, including the issuance of attendance letters, delivery to supervisors, cycle time of supervisors returning letters. Maintain statistics of the program. Assists physicians in employee medical examinations. Assist the Occupational Health & Safety manager in regulatory training. Generates monthly statistical data and submit to Corporate. Participates in the administration of medical leaves according to Law 139 and FMLA in coordination with Human Resources Manager. Participates in Occupational Health & Safety and prevention committees, first aid training and environmental programs, including accident investigation, plant inspections, ergonomic. Responsible for all medical surveillance programs in the facility. Develops employee programs such as health education and health related counseling, accident prevention, alcohol abuse counseling, curtailment of smoking and weight control regimens. Also works with environmental manager to recognize environmental factors and/or stress in the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health or discomfort among employees. Management of medical plan. Provides orientation to employees and assist on medical claims and changes. Works with the annual enrollment process. Maintain the necessary data for Infirmary metrics. (lost work-days, OSHA recordable cases, leading indicators, leave of absences, etc.). Provides guidance and orientation on issues regarding physical and emotional state of associates and as necessary makes referral to doctor's office and/or EAP program. Performs departmental visits, area visits and also attends group meetings. Partners with other health and safety professionals to recognize health hazards and environmental risk factors in the workplace that may cause negative health impacts among employees. Actively participates in determining strategies to reduce those risks. Facilitates and coordinates a risk-based health promotion program to enhance employee, family and community wellbeing. Participates in the periodic evaluation of the facility occupational health program and takes measures to achieve continuous improvement. Stays within the Occupational Health budget Observes all company and regulatory EHS requirements, including Corporate Protocol for Occupational Health. Observe confidentiality, HIPAA and data privacy procedures at all time. Qualifications EDUCACIÓN Y/O EXPERIENCIA (EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE): Bachelor Degree in Nursing Science. At least three- (3 years of experience within a manufacturing environmental Occupational Nurse. Must be a registered nurse with current license to practice. CUALIFICACIONES (QUALIFICATIONS): Knowledge of all federal regulations regarding OSHA, Workers Compensation, company Disability Plans. Ability to develop and communicate health programs. Must be available to rotate different shifts. Must possess a thorough knowledge on OSHA (hearing conservation, respiratory protection, Hazard component, Process, Safety, and Ergonomics) and NIOSH regulations. Computer literate. Hands-on experience on computer programs, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. IDIOMA (LANGUAGE): Fully Bilingual English & Spanish.
