Job Description Arcadis is searching for a Staff Engineer - Water / Wastewater, with minimum 5 years' experience, to join our Puerto Rico office. Our team helps clients achieve business objectives by creating and implementing innovative and effective solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure assets and this is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated engineer to join our team. The Candidate, with the support of a strong nationally recognized technical staff, will utilize their expertise, technical knowledge, along with a proven reputation with clients as a Designer/Task Project Manager who successfully leads and executes Water / Wastewater planning, design & construction projects. This is a 'hands-on' design role with an expectation of also supporting client development activities to help build and grow our practice in this market. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages projects on the development of significant Water / Wastewater and Stormwater utility projects primarily involving supply, treatment, pumping systems, pipelines, force mains and distribution / collection systems that will include the full spectrum of the project cycle from concept thru design, permitting and construction administration. Leads project teams to produce design calculations, technical reports, permitting, detailed design and engineering plans and specifications. As Project Manager, will plan, execute and deliver various engineering projects on time and on budget. Also, will manage team performance and ensure that work meets or exceeds the clients' overall expectations. Will also support the Business Development activities of other Senior Leaders, Market Leaders and Client. As Client Manager of significant water and wastewater projects, will manage team performance and ensure that work exceeds the clients' overall expectations. Will also support the Business Development activities of other Senior Leaders, Market Leaders and Client Support in growing staff in this region by identifying new/additional clients and opportunities. May perform different roles on multi-disciplined projects including QA/QC reviewer, technical advisor, design and/or client facing project manager. May manage project pursuit efforts and execution of projects thereafter as part of the team throughout the Southeast region. Be part of teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations. Works with Senior Managers in developing scopes of work and budgets for various projects. Work effectively and collaboratively in team situations, with a variety of engineering disciplines, office / project staff, clients and sub-contractors, and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists, throughout the project life cycle. Supervise and support the work of others. Mentor junior level technical staff. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 5 years' experience or more with a comparable Engineering Consulting firm, with at least 2 years' experience as Design / Technical Lead or Task Manager, specifically on water / wastewater design projects. Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering PR PE License and active member of the CIAPR Solid professional, 'hands-on', experience as the designer of various water and wastewater supply, treatment, pump stations, distribution / collections and stormwater systems. Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish. Skills to include: public speaking, ability to work as part of a team, preparation and development of technical documents, prior client involvement and/or relationship skills as part of the project team. Experience preparing and reviewing project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates and other procurement type documents. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Adobe software. Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations. Preferred Qualifications 8 years' experience in Engineering Consulting, with at least 4 years' experience as Task Manager, specifically on water / wastewater design projects Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Familiarity with MS Project and/or Primavera scheduling software. PMP Certification. Willing to travel around the island and international traveling. Employment Type Regular SDL2017
