ICF is seeking a Disaster Recovery Public Relations Coordinator who will support government agencies in Puerto Rico in managing federal grants for long-term recovery from 2017 hurricanes. As part of the growing Disaster Management Division, the position involves promoting housing recovery using U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds. The Community Coordinator will work onsite with the senior ICF staff, subject matter experts, and other staff to implement post-disaster housing recovery programs. The Public Relations Coordinator position will be the main point of contact with media outlets and the public. The Public Relations Coordinator will coordinate with government agency staff to promote a positive image for the program and assist in keeping the public informed about opportunities for assistance and progress in implementing recovery programs. The Community Coordinator will work closely with Community Coordinators and the Complaints Coordinator to assist the community in accessing opportunities offered by the housing recovery program. Key Responsibilities: The Public Relations Coordinator duties are: Developing and implementing media strategy for high-profile public programs Arranging speaking engagements to present housing recovery assistance programs Planning and presenting press conferences and meetings Interacting with print, television, radio and social media to disseminate information and handle press inquiries Developing press releases and fact sheets Promoting opportunities for assistance and the overall program image Basic Qualifications: 5 years of experience in the Public Relations field Excellent communication and customer service skills and exhibit a high level of professionalism in all communications Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English Language Proficiency: bilingual preferred, Spanish and English Knowledge and experience with personal computers in a Microsoft Windows-based environment.
