Whom we’re looking for,
We’re looking for a full-time commercial construction Safety Coordinator with five years of experience in the construction industry. This position requires frequent travel to our job sites around the Island.
Here’s what you’ll do,
Uphold the company’s core safety values
Build working relationships with clients, staff and subcontractors
Contribute to the development of the overall project safety program
Raise awareness of potential hazards that exist on a Job site with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent and Subcontractors
Hold planning meetings with subcontractors to review overall site safety program and job hazard analysis for their scope of work
Manage time and resource allocation to provide overall safety leadership to assigned project(s)
Create safety reports for the project, analyzing metrics and making recommendations for improvement over baseline
Conduct new hire safety orientations
Provide guidance for the development of Project Safety Officer communicating clear objectives, goals and related deliverables
Evaluate training needs and make recommendations to subcontractors
What required skills and qualifications should you have?

Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or related field preferred
5 years of experience working as Health and Safety Professional Project and Industrial Pharmaceutical Environments.
30 hrs. OSHA Construction Industry Certification from PR-OSHA (OSHA 510).
OSHA 500 for Instruction in Construction Industry (OSHA Outreach Trainer Certification from an OSHA Authorized Training Center).
OSHA 511 and OSHA 501 preferred not necessary.
OSHA 40-Horas HAZWOPER Training, preferred not necessary
Technical working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA ANSI
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish oral and written.
Proficiency using MS office(Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) required
Strong ability to provide training and coaching for individuals and groups.
Ability to supervise, discipline fairly, and make decisions.
Ability to work under pressure, performing simultaneous tasks and meeting deadlines.
Ability and availability to serve as an emergency coordinator in the assigned project and respond to the call, in case of emergencies or natural disasters.
Ability to remain calm in times of crisis and stress or emergencies
Eligibility to work in the United States
Valid PR Driver's License (Required)
Frequent travel to project job sites and offices required
Availability to work overtime and weekends if required.
