The Sr. Automation Manager provides leadership and direction for automation engineers and other technical resources and activities within the manufacturing sites. The selected candidate will: • Motivate and inspire site team to drive significantly increased performance through technical innovation and change. • Provide leadership and development to the team and ensure there is a diverse pipeline of high performing multi-skilled leaders of the future. Drive a Credo-based culture aligned around our guiding principles of servant leadership, Faster Forward, innovation, engagement, collaboration and development. • Provide ES leadership, including obtaining agreement on site ES project definitions and priorities, and ensuring that resources, capabilities and processes are in place. • Ensure ES programs stay on plan by resolving resource conflicts and removing obstacles, which may involve negotiations at a senior level. • Establish effective working relationships and develops partnerships with TO, Quality, IT, SCSS and others to optimize methodology. • Ensure sound technical engineering concepts are applied. • Develop a mechanism to proactively assess business needs and identify points of leverage across the site. • Provide support for investigations (Events / CAPAs) and regulatory inspections. • Maintain change control process aligned to global and platform processes. • Monitor system performance and conduct database administration. • Provide feedback to Technical Operations on changes required in Master Recipe to be incorporated into Equipment Class General Recipe (EC GR). • Implement the content and execution standards in the end to end development and deployment of manufacturing and lab systems at the site. • Ensure governance for site specific portfolio/ program and project management and execution. • Ensure cost competitiveness and continuous improvement by identifying focus area for JJPS diagnostic and sponsoring JJPS initiatives led/supported by Execution Systems people. • Define, monitor and reports metrics and KPI. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree is required; Engineering or Computer Science is highly preferred. • Master degree is preferred. • FPX, PMP, PE and/or Process Excellence certifications are preferred. • Minimum Eight (8) years of experience in Computer Network Systems is required. • Experience in computer systems within Medical Device, Pharmaceuticals or other healthcare regulated sector is preferred. • Five (5) years of people management experience is required. • Understanding of production process management is required. • Experience delivering innovative technical and engineering solutions in manufacturing environments is required. • Knowledge of technology development and validation, including design of experiments and statistical analysis, is preferred. • Experience working within a support organization with a knowledge of functional and matrix structures is preferred. • Strong and proven project management experience is required. • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point is required. • Proficiency in English is required; Spanish is preferred. • Availability to travel within Puerto Rico 30% and outside Puerto Rico 25%.
