Eaton’s Las Piedras PR is currently seeking for a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our team.

Provide regulatory, technical and logistic support to Eaton operations to maintain a proactive and functional health, safety and environmental program in conformance with Federal and Commonwealth laws and regulations and corporate policies.

Responsibilities:

- Overall responsibility for the performance and compliance of all environmental programs applicable to the operations.
- Keeps abreast with law, regulations, standards and MESH corporate guidelines related to environmental affairs. Evaluates existing and proposed federal and commonwealth environmental laws and regulations with assistance of in house or external resources, if necessary, to establish their potential impact on plant’s operations. Define and recommend environmental controls, projects and/ or programs necessary to assure regulatory compliance.
- Provided the needed assistance in environmental engineering or regulatory affairs to Engineering or facility/utility department within the operational activities of the environmental programs to ensure compliance (e.g. Waste Water Disposal, Waste Management, Air Program and so on.)
- Evaluates and approve, if authorized, from an environmental and regulatory perspective Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), purchase of equipment and materials, capital appropriation requests (CAR) and request for disposal of assets.
- Evaluates and approves manifests on behalf of the company for the outside transportation and destruction of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Assists the Engineering Team in the coordination, preparation and execution of different capital projects.
- Establishes and maintains policies, programs and standard operating procedures in the environmental area, such as air program, waste management, WWTP SOPs, SPCC, and SWPPP among others.
- Develops and offers employee training following EPA, EQB and any other environmental guidelines.
- Responsibility on the performance and follow up of the Emergency Response Group in regard with Environmental issues or concerns.
- Assist to Crisis Management, Safety Team and Emergency Response Group, when needed.
- Assist in other areas of the Health, Safety and Environmental Department.
- Take Health, Safety and Environmental into account in all decisions and activities.
- Make sure all associates comply with HSE guidelines and applicable laws.

Qualifications
Senior Environmental Engineer Basic Requirements:

- BS in Engineering, MS or MBA desired. Engineer in training license is a must. Engineer license is preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in a related field. General knowledge of a manufacturing plant operation.
- Working knowledge of rules and regulations regarding health, safety and environmental.

Knowledge project engineering.

Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, PRASA and EQB Rules and Regulations.

- Certifications: EIT – Engineering in Training is a must

PE – Professional Engineer is preferred

Hazwoper, RCRA, OSHA 30 Hours, SPCC, Stormwater

- Other Skills / Competencies:

Root Cause Analysis/Problem Solving Skills.

Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)

Excellent oral and written skills.

Computer literate; Windows, Excel, Word, Microsoft Project

Excellent project management skills.
