Senior Program Manager - Puerto Rico, Global Health Location: San Juan, PUERTO RICO Puerto Rico Project HOPE is an international NGO of more than 500 engaged employees and hundreds of volunteers who work in more than 25 countries, responding to the world's most pressing global health challenges. We have helped build hundreds of health programs from the ground up and responded to humanitarian crises worldwide. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for overall management of program activities for the Project HOPE office in Puerto Rico. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Serve as Project HOPE's official representative, ensuring proper coordination with authorities by liaising with the Puerto Rico Department of Health, key stakeholders in the public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations to establish Memoranda of Understanding and other collaboration mechanisms under the direction of the Americas Regional Director. Ensure accountability to affected populations through the inclusion of local community members and representatives at all stages of the project cycle. Support identification of public and private funding opportunities to sustain and grow Project HOPE's program initiatives in Puerto Rico, providing strategic direction through prioritization of interventions based on need, Project HOPE capacity, and pursuit of additional resources. Lead the Puerto Rico-based staff, developing a team capable of high level, sustained program management through the recovery phases of the response. Provide overall financial and administrative management of Project HOPE programs, building and maintaining budgets, tracking HR rotations, and ensuring accounting procedures, cash management, and procurement activities are conducted in accordance with Project HOPE processes. At the direction of the Americas Regional Director and with inputs from Program Managers and Coordinators, facilitate the implementation of all programs, including the Emergency Preparedness and the Addressing Diabetes in Post-Hurricane Puerto Rico initiatives. Maintain regular communications with Program Managers and facilitate communications between HOPE headquarters and the field: Conduct regular program review meetings with participating partners and other stakeholder groups to monitor progress and constraints. Prepare regular program progress reports to keep HOPE headquarters and field staff informed and advised regarding all program activities 7. Ensure timely planning and startup of work plans and related program activities. 8. Other duties as assigned.
