Role Overview This position supervises entry to professional level employees or team leaders in Manufacturing Engineering. Establishes day to day objectives and guidelines for manufacturing processes, product specifications, and other areas of manufacturing engineering. Provides direction to employees and directs recruitment of support/entry level staff. Primary Responsibilities: Supervises the activities of entry to professional level engineers who design manufacturing processes and specifications that will improve the efficiency and productivity of the organization's manufacturing operations. Takes ownership for the successful implementation of projects to ensure that business objectives are achieved. Plans or directs the designs and layout for assembly and materials handling. Consults or negotiates with lines of business to adapt machine and equipment design to factory and production standards. Mentors team members and coordinates activities involving operations sequencing and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment to ensure quality product performance. Provides technical leadership to develop statistical process control manufacturing processes and demonstrates continuous development on those techniques. Provides guidance for engineering design concepts and specification requirements to ensure manufacturing equipment is fully utilized. Designs and plans layout for assembly and materials handling. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Plans sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
