Provides sourcing expertise & support to all Engineering and Construction projects/initiatives across the AMERICAS region, as needed. Lead service and procurement support for a timely delivery of products and services, cost improvement and to achieve a high level of customer service. In this area Responsible for high dollar value procurement (individual purchase value ranging from $500k to over $5 mm) contract development, negotiations, creation & execution. Position must comply with all Security Guidelines and EH&S regulations. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provides site and regional procurement services to designated functional customers across the AMERICAS region. 2. Serves as one of the primary links between users and suppliers on a daily basis – depending on site, nature of the issue and suggested mitigation steps. 3. Facilitates, across the region, the sourcing order placement process (if needed) and manages suppliers to ensure quality and service levels are maintained; resolves problems and service issues. 4. Creates alignment with site and regional customers to ensure early procurement involvement in the decision making process and optimizes negotiating leverage across various sites. 5. Leads global procurement efforts to identify opportunities for better alignment and collaboration across sites (region). 6. Works with the category manager to implement financially validated cost savings/ cost avoidance methodology across sites and region and reports financial numbers to site/HQ finance and GP management on a periodic basis. 7. Ensures that all engineering and constructions projects are aligned with overall GP strategy for the category and involves central sourcing organizations as appropriate. 8. Conducts SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) seminars across sites within the region to identify innovative ideas and opportunities in mutual business. 9. Leads performance monitoring of existing suppliers and potential new suppliers with standardized metrics and reporting scorecards in all sites across the region. (Works with the GP Central Sourcing Organization to develop tracking and service measurement specifications and monitor them on a regular and timely basis. Variables include cost savings, cost avoidance, customer satisfaction, project timeliness, vendor performance and strategic partnerships) 10. Liaison between regional SPM's and the central sourcing organization to leverage incremental opportunities that are not covered by local/regional master contracts. 11. Participates on a periodic basis, in company wide strategic sourcing teams to understand overall vision and category strategy from a global perspective. 12. Responsible for local/regional information requirements, as and when needed, from the central information systems (e.g. SAP) ensuring uploads of pricing and contractual information as they become available. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS § Bachelor Degree in Business, Science or Industrial Engineering. § Five (5) years experience in purchasing including capital procurement and/or materials management § In depth knowledge of purchasing related laws, Sourcing Methodology, and centralized information systems (e.g. SAP). § Must have a strong customer service orientation with excellent analytic, interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills in order to successfully establish the new role of procurement within the organization and to meet procurement needs of the customer. § Excellent navigational know/how within SAP (purchasing modules) necessary. § Must have a proactive and creative approach to continuous innovation and improvement in delivering procurement services and identifying new opportunities. § Must be fully bilingual (English and Spanish) SDL2017
