Purpose With general guidance from functional management, responsible for providing team leadership to a group of employees committed to increased quality and productivity. Supports demand of the business unit. Identifies and analyzes problems, plans tasks and solutions. Provides guidance to team on development, performance & productivity issues. Reports to functional and/or organization management on team accomplishments, achievements & productivity. Responsibilities Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources. Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews. Monitors daily work operations and provides direction to predominantly nonexempt and entry level staff to achieve unit or departmental goals. Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures. Interprets and executes policies that affect individuals within the assigned organizational unit or department. Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations etc). Develops work schedules for department by assessing priorities, workload and available resources. Maintains personnel records (e.g., work schedules, vacation schedules, leaves) and makes or directs modifications in the database to reflect actual changes. Management Requirements BS required (Engineering Bachelor Degree is preferred) A minimum of 2 years of experience of related work experience Experience in FDA regulated environment Proven continuos improvement experience (Lean Mfg/DMAIC s preferred Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish) Job Scope and Leveling Guidelines Scope: Accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision of support and entry level professional employees. Monitors progress toward departmental goals; monitors costs of projects and human and material resources within a department or unit. Receives task-oriented work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies. Supervision Received: Works under general supervision. Receives limited supervision on standard issues, and detailed instructions on new assignments. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall quality, efficiency and accuracy. Supervision Provided: Provides direction and guidance to predominantly support and entry level professional personnel; assigns tasks, checks work at frequent intervals and maintains schedules.
