Duties HelpDuties Summary Duty station will initially be selectee's home address (Work at Home position) until the opening of the Puerto Rico Area Office (PRAO) in San Juan, PR. At that time the employee will be required to report to the PRAO as their regular place of work. Applicants must reside in Puerto Rico by the date of employment. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish Learn more about this agency Responsibilities The individual selected for this position will: Direct, coordinate, and manage all administrative activities for the Regional Census Centers (RCC) including coordinating personnel management activities; time and attendance reporting; overseeing personal property management; procuring supplies, equipment, and services security; safety; records and files maintenance; travel; space management; and, other administrative services necessary for the efficient operation of the RCC. Supervises a subordinate staff performing personnel, payroll, space, voice communications, and general administrative work. Delegate work to subordinates based on the difficulty of the assignments and each employee's capabilities. Serves as a member of the Regional Census Center management team, providing analytical, planning, and evaluative reports on internal activities or functions such as human resources, fiscal management, travel, space administration, etc. Travel Required Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be 25% Supervisory status Yes Promotion Potential 13 Job family (Series) 0301 Miscellaneous Administration And Program Requirements HelpRequirements Conditions of Employment U.S. citizen. Qualifications Selective Factor: This is a bilingual position. Applicants will be required to self-certify proficiency in Spanish as a condition of employment. To be considered proficient you must be able to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish All applicants must have the ability to converse and translate fluently from Spanish into English and from English to Spanish and accurately reflect the intent and meaning of the original material. Applicants must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GG-0301-13 EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes planning, organizing, managing and supervising office administrative functions; overseeing personal property management, procuring supplies, and record and file maintenance; and evaluating work performance of subordinates. EDUCATION: No substitution of education for experience is permitted. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
