Job purpose
Gersh Academy is seeking a smart and energetic paraprofessional who is is interested in being part of our proven ABA program. In this program,the individual will have the opportunity to work intensive ABA with our students and be supervised by our BCBA. This experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity and will not only provide changes in our students, but will also be a growing experience for the individual in a field that is new in Puerto Rico. Part of the benefits of this program is the constant supervision of the BCBA.
Duties and responsibilities
Implementation of programs:
The paraprofessional would have to implement the program for the students that are under their care.
The programs are active and must be carried out daily.
The paraprofessional will adapt to changes and updates accordingly.
Data collection and graphing:
All programs will have corresponding data sheet and graphs.
The paraprofessional will take data the same time they are with the student.
Graphs will be completed afterwards, not while working with the students.
Information for the Supervisor:
The paraprofessionals should send a report to the supervisor specifying the progress and difficulties that the student has encountered.
Between supervision, the supervisor will be constantly monitoring student and program implementation. The supervisor is available through email or in person to discuss any concerns pertinent to the Project and consistency of interventions.
The supervisor will be sending daily observations with recommendations to be implemented when stated.
Material Development:
The paraprofessionals are to prepare materials for the different programs that will be introduced, with support from the lead teacher.
Professional Development
The paraprofessionals and lead teacher will participate in a workshops for specific training in ABA methodology and program implementation.
The paraprofessionals a required to participate 80% of the sessions to provide an appropriate implementation of ABA programs.
Qualifications
Reliable transportation
Almost perfect attendance
40-hour Registered Behavior Technician Training
Must possess excellent writing and organizational skills.
Bachelors preferred
Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of Management.
Ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize tasks are essential
Strong Interpersonal skills
Detailed oriented individual
Maintain confidentiality
Accident awareness to minimized students and staff incidents
