Full time OpportunityGeneral DescriptionEnsures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Analyze mortgage accounting transactions for BPPR and Popular Bank.• Analyze and record daily and end of month journal entries (accruals, intercompany entries, cash related entries, among others) in the General Ledger (SAP).• Investigate and analyze unusual transactions or differences in accounts, identifying and channeling possible reclassifications, adjustments, or corrections (as needed).• Prepare monthly business reports required.• Review and keep up to date documentation and record of internal procedures as required by the organization.• Provide support in the preparation of Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts variance explanations.• Provide support with quarterly and annual disclosures preparation.• Provide support in auditing processes and other risk/compliance related requirements.• Provide support on assigned special projects.Supervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.EducationBachelor's Degree in AccountingExperienceAt least two years of experience working with the General LedgerOther Qualifications• Knowledge of accounting principles.• Knowledge of the complete accounting cycle, accounting entries, analysis of subsidiaries, preparation of financial and related reports.• Analytical ability to evaluate financial information.• Ability to integrate and apply accounting knowledge to the analysis of operational and financial processes.• Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish, both oral and written.• Intermediate/Advance skills in systems such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint• Experience with SAP and MSP (preferable).• Ability to prioritize and anticipate situations.• Ability to identify problems, analyze their causes and resolve them in a timely and accurate manner.• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet delivery dates.• Ability to adapt to changes, new situations, and work under pressure.• Focused on achieving results through collaboration and teamwork.• Skills to develop and maintain good relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, present alternatives to solve situations and provide follow-up to agreements reached.• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.CompetenciesAccountabilityAnalytical DisciplineCollaboration & TeamworkChange AgentCustomer CentricSelf DevelopmentBusiness ExcellenceCharacter
