Job Description Role: Applications Engineer/ IT Programmer - Windows Assignment: IT Location: Puerto Rico, with the possibility of working from home after six months of training Humana is seeking a Technology Applications Engineer . You will perform coding, testing, implementation and support tasks in order to develop, maintain, and enhance computer solutions for business needs. This role also includes the ability to do the following: Interpret production trends and abnormalities in order to determine root causes Answer incoming customer calls, resolving specific questions about specific applications Create process improvements for various business segments Participate in Humana’s Disaster Recovery exercises Role Essentials Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience Experience in the areas of software development and support Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook Must be able to read, understand and communicate in both English and Spanish Windows / .NET / C# technology, application development Working Knowledge of SSIS /SSRS and MS SQL a strong plus Role Desirables Health insurance industry experience Comprehensive understanding of SDLC, OO principles and design patterns Knowledge on IBM DB2 SQL BI/Data mining with MS SQL Company Description Humana Inc., headquartered in Louisville, Ky., is a leading health care company that offers a wide range of insurance products and health and wellness services that incorporate an integrated approach to lifelong well-being.
