Position Description Develops and implements integrated process and business system initiatives. Communicates with functional areas and define business requirements related to technology. Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures, which are cost effective and meet user requirements. Position Responsibilities Develops solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance. Represents DBA team as a prime contact on small projects. Enforces policies, standards and guidelines regarding databases and database management. Implements technical solutions to promote a scalable, robust, and manageable environment. Troubleshoots and tunes database environment and defines performance thresholds. Works with business analysts and application developers to create and implement conceptual, logical and physical data models. Consults on database program design and reviews Transact-SQL and PL/SQL created by application developers. Provides technical guidance to database application development teams and assist with problem resolution. Analyzes data access, integration, and storage requirements for databases. Ensures that Medtronic's systems and the information on them are protected in accordance with Medtronic's Information Protection Policies and Standards, as well as best Information Protection practices. Performs other position related duties as assigned. Quality Responsibility Reports any observed or informed process and/or product non-conformities to the Supervisor for action and resolution. Reports any complaint regarding a Medtronic product to the Supervisor. Complies with all the requirements in the operational procedures at the area of responsibility in order to meet the requirements of all applicable Quality System Regulations (e.g.: FDA Part 820 Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 Quality Standard, R-PAL (Japanese QSR's). EHS Responsibilities Acknowledge and maintain commitment with the EHS Policy. Participate in the development of EHS improvement projects. Participate actively in the EHS programs to achieve the objectives and targets defined for the area. Minimum Education Bachelor Degree Basic Qualifications Background Educational: Information Technology, related Engineering, Computer Science or related field Experience: o Associate Level: 0 Years with Bachelors Exposure to information technology and manufacturing environment Skills Interpersonal Relations Quality and Results Oriented Computer Literate Fluency speaking and writing in English and Spanish Desired/ Preferred Qualifications Background Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industry Experience with n-tier application and infrastructure architecture, various Oracle products including RDBMS, Net, SQLPlus and PL/SQL, Designer, Application Server, and Oracle Enterprise Manager, Various SQL Server products including MOM, Transact-SQL and the SQL Server Enterprise Manager, relational modeling and physical database design. Familiarity with database name resolution environment. Competent in O/S scripting. Ability to develop standard procedures and practices relating to databases and database management.
