The primary role of the CVC is to integrate faculty, students, and the community with nonprofit organizations and community-based organizations by identifying their needs. This effort is coordinated through the Service-Learning Project in which students develop and strengthen their academic skills designing specific community projects according to the needs identified in the communities and organizations involved. CVC's vision is to form and promote socially responsible leaders who contribute to the solutions of community needs and strengthen the organizational development of the entities that serve communities. The CVC's mission is to strengthen the vitality of nonprofit organizations and communities, promote the economic recovery of the aforementioned target sectors while improving the academic and professional skills of the participating students. The Student Mentoring Program and Service –Learning Project promotes quality and evaluation of community service projects, including services to nonprofit organizations. The goal of this service is: develop systems to measure the quality of the service provided by the students, and the impact of such service on the identified needs of organizations and communities.
