Collateral Reviewer

Full Time Opportunity

General Description

Receive, verify and analyze collaterals for commercial loans. Ensures required documentation, terms and conditions meet compliance requirements, and that they comply with the state and federal laws and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Using specialized knowledge, evaluates and determines, in an independent and discretional manner, the legal documentation and any other external and internal documents received, (E.g. Ley Hipotecaria : Ley 2010 :2015; Ley Notarial de Puerto Rico : Ley 75 : 1987; "Uniform Commercial Code", etc.) and granted for any commercial transaction made by the bank. The evaluation includes, the identification of deficiencies contained, as well as the notification of these deficiencies, indicating in turn, the corrective measure to correct said deficiencies. Has the authority and discretion to accept or reject legal or operational documentation used to make commercial closing in compliance with the laws (federal and state) and regulations that govern the banking industry. Has the power to require, both the bank's officer and attorneys, the correction of the documentation made, as well as the request for additional information or documentation that it deems pertinent to comply with the law (federal and state) and regulations.

Minimum Education

Juris Doctor Degree or Paralegal studies completed or in progress.

Experience

Minimum of two years paralegal experience or closely related experience.
