Company OverviewOur client, a leader in the food service industry, distribution and manufacturing logistics, is looking for a Engineering and Maintenance Manager.Job SummaryThe Engineering and Maintenance Manager will have broad responsibility for general Engineering and Maintenance operations, within the operation, which strives to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, and provide customer service.Responsibilities and DutiesBe a prominent leader on site by being present on plant safety, quality, delivery, and cost.Manage and supervise multiple projects as well as a project leader on multiple projects.Manage maintenance department staff and associated workload.Provide documentation and schedules for improvement projects.Planning and evaluation of the integration of new or updated equipment.Assist manufacturing with improvement projects in Lean Manufacturing, Process Improvements and Problem Solving.Provide plant-level ownership of the capital expenditure process, including planning, budgeting, and writing.Lead the rebuild / redesign of machinery and processes to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.Participate and / or lead continuous improvement activities.Develop, train and advise a team of engineers to ensure the highest level of performance and standards of excellence.Qualifications and SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferably with a Master's degree or equivalent of 8 years of management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.7 years of significant professional achievement, including increased responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope and complexityMaintenance or mechanical experience requiredStrong lean manufacturing and distribution experience and passion for growing your lean experiencePrevious experience in P&L ownership preferred but not requiredSufficient experience and background in manufacturing, inventory control and strategic planning.Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills that have resulted in the achievement of strategic and tactical objectives.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applicationsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
