Full Job Description
Accountabilities and Skills include but are not limited to:
1. Multi-tasking/problem-solver, positive attitude-self-confident, self-starter with strong sense of urgency, customer service focus, effective verbal and written communication skills, must be able to manage competing priorities and have excellent judgement, resourcefulness in problem solving, triaging very busy phone call volume, insurance eligibility/validation; colllection of co-pays, deductible, private pay;set up new patient demographics in EMR, inter office emails, scanning into the EMR system. Must be able to take-on and follow through with delegated tasks and accountability. Excellent telephone skills a must.
2. Front Office Secretarial Administration/Reception: Very professional with great patient greeting skills-greet patients, verify/validate every new, follow up and walk-in, patient's valid current patient information: our Doctor"s name as Primary Care Physician, other ID, have new patients complete New Patient Forms; have existing patients validate with proof of insurance; their current insurance and current mailing address, email, contact phones, etc. Inform patients of co-pays and deductibles after verifying each insurance, including secondary traditional Medicare insurance, process credit card payments; payments, handle cash, credit cards, checks, Complete all of the above with urgent efficiency, so as to allow for patients to be ready to be taken for demographics, patient exam Rooms and get ready
3. Very strong Internet/Web access skills,knowledge and experience critical as well as strong telephone etiquette & skills, to include ability to work efficiently with patients and within insurance company web portals, Inmediata, Inova, Triple S and others, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and including scheduling. Skilled in MS Office Word; Excel.
4. Compassionate, Courteous, Tactful with Patients & visitors-yet with sense of urgency; very sensitive to Patient needs as well as the needs of other medical providers, insurance carriers, pharmacies, hospitals. Must be able to efficiently and firmly manage telephone/email relationships with specialist doctor's offices, hospitals, imaging companies, laboratories , and with all other healthcare/medical providers. Able to establish and maintain professional relationships and interact, on the spur of the moment, with these "other healthcare/medical providers" s. Must be very sensitive to Patient retention with all patients
