GENERAL SUMMARY
The Merchant Processing Account Specialist will work in concert with our sales team, product/service partners and customers to guide them through the application process and support them once boarded. We pride ourselves on offering top of the line credit/debit card processing for businesses, therefore detailed customer service is priority for this role. This position will report to Director of Operations and company Executives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage clients, discover client’s needs, and recommend the best solution
Work with the Sales team to develop/refine and implement an effective and efficient program to take potential customers through the application and boarding process
Data entry of merchant demographic information on CRM system
Maintaining organized customer files and securing confidential documentation
Accurately complete and verify applications and collect all required information from client
Conduct risk assessments on potential clients by using financial data, credit reports and business records research to review/decide if merchant applications should be approved
Render application decisions based on consultations with supervisory underwriter and upper management
Maintain complete and accurate records of all data and interactions with merchants that have been/will be assigned to you
Monitor accounts in your care and identify issues that need to be addressed
Provide first level customer support
Reasonable availability for your merchants to contact you when needed
Act as an interface between customers and service providers as needed
Review residual reports on a monthly basis and work with sales to resolve issues with service providers
Request referrals and conduct own networking to create strong sales pipeline
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency on Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on:Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Ability to work in a fast-paced office, team environment
Ability to prioritize duties by deadlines and workflow
Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills
Strong Communication Skills with experience in email and phone etiquette
Ability to articulate and compose business related e-mails

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma/GED required (College degree preferred)
Preferred background in merchant processing, banking or underwriting
